Upstate New York Is The Coldest Place In The Continental US for 2 Weeks In A Row
Philadelphia, NY in Jefferson County IS the coldest place in the continental US as recorded by an automated weather station for the second Sunday in a row.
Just a few days back when you were thinking it's not really cold, Buffalo hit 61 and Syracuse checked in with a temp of 62. How about a quick reality check, step outside and welcome -34 what a difference 2 days can make.
As of Sunday at noon, the National Weather Service listed the coldest place was Hibbing /Chisholm, Minnesota at -32. It's not clear why Philadelphia New York isn't listed as the coldest place today with a -34 recorded at about 6 am Sunday morning.
It was just last week that Philly and Edwards in St. Lawrence County, hit 36 below and were officially the co-coldest places in the lower 48.
The National Weather Service said we are in for a warming trend in the next couple of weeks. I say spring can't get here fast enough.
