The Hub Eatery Making Good on Promise to Help Homeless in Utica

The Hub Eatery is making on it's promise to help the homeless in Utica, after their surveillance cameras caught a man stealing table cloths to use as blankets.

When Frank Cotrupe, the owner of The Hub Eatery on Bleecker Street in Utica, saw a man stealing the table cloths from their outdoor patio to use as blankets, he decided that instead of calling the police, he would offer to help.

He provided blankets and food for anyone who might need them, on his patio.

Now, Frank is partnering with Utica's Municipal Housing Authority and Americorps to do even more.  The Hub Eatery is collaborating with both organizations to help the homeless in Utica get needed items, and even more importantly, to begin the process of finding permanent housing.

Frank says, "I'm just trying to help."

The Hub Eatery is collecting various items, including:

• Coats
• Hats and gloves
• Socks
• Blankets
• Towels
• Personal hygiene items

Donations can be dropped off at The Hub Eatery, 222 Bleecker Street, Utica.
