A winter storm that blanketed Central New York with snow and ice overnight has caused several schools to delay opening. The list of those schools can be found below.
A winter storm warning has forced several schools to make early dismissal protocol and some schools have even closed. According to the National Weather Service heavy snow and icy conditions are expected throughout the day.
Schools in New York State can't open before September 1st and must also put in a full 180 days a year, but both of those requirements may soon come to an end.
