It seems every few days a retail store is either filing for bankruptcy or going out of business for good. Another store has just announced that it will be closing hundreds of its stores because of the decline in sales due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The company opened a plant in Wallkill, New York during the Civil War and was also home to Elsie the Cow, who became the company's advertising mascot in 1936.
The decision was made to “preserve the existing stores, 350 employees and continue providing great products at reasonable prices to the Central New York community,” according to their press release.
