Police Say Rear Window Stick Figure Family Decals Aren’t Safe. Why?

photo: Ebay user – cddecals

You’ve seen them. Usually these stickers are attached to a minivan or large SUV and hint at every member of the family straight down to Fido and the pet fish. I would need a big window for my family were I to do it, but police are now saying that these stick figure family decals are safety hazards!! Wait what? Maybe annoying just a tad, but risky behavior? Surely not! Here’s why…

A quick gander on eBay will reveal just how creative these stickers have become, from mocking the whole idea to others that actually display the occupations of the parents and the school that the kids go to which has law enforcement worried… Just like any time you share information with strangers of Facebook, etc. you carry the risk of them taking sinister interest. So, police are urging families to take down the cute stickers in order to not accidentally invite harm onto themselves. Gosh. Is this an example of being safety-paranoid or are we asleep at the wheel when it comes to awareness?
