State of Emergency in New York as Winter Storm Hits
The biggest storm of the season has Governor Andrew Cuomo declaring a state of emergency in New York State.
Everyone is being encouraged to avoid unnecessary travel. If you need to head out on the road, be prepared for road closures.
"With heavy snow and blizzard-like conditions expected from upstate to downstate, we are taking every precaution to keep New Yorkers safe," said Cuomo. "I urge residents to stay informed, avoid unnecessary travel, and where possible, leave work early as heavy snowfall is expected to begin tonight"
All non-essential state employees in all counties except Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Lewis, Franklin, Clinton and Essex do not have to report to work today.W
