“Space Jam” Dunk Wins At 2015 Slam Dunk Contest [VIDEO]
I love basketball and this dunk has everything in it! Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Zach LaVine puts on quite a show.
I think Zach LaVine has a future in basketball. LOL. Can you believe he is only 19 years old? He is the second youngest to win the bragging right as the 2015 winner of the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. Kobe Bryant is the youngest to win this event at 18 years old in 1997. Zach said he wanted to come out with a "bang" and boy did he ever. He also said that he wanted a 50 on every dunk and almost accomplished that with 194 points out of a possible 200 points.
Zach was entering this as a fan favorite and came out wearing Michael Jordan's jersey No. 23 from the movie Space Jam. Zach says that movie inspired him to play in the NBA.
At 6'5" tall we have watched taller players but it's crazy how he almost hits his head on the rim of the basket. I would love to see this in person someday. I doubt it would be easy to get tickets as it's all part of the NBA All-Star Weekend. This is how they wrapped up Saturdays events at the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn New York.
This was Zach Levine's first year participating in the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. I can't imagine what the future holds for him. I'll be watching
