Six firefighters have died battling the wildfires in California.

Firefighters are slowly making headway against more than a dozen blazes that continue to scorch California says WNPR. The deadly fire has burned 295,970 acres, putting it on track to become the state's first single 3300,000-acre fire.

Smoke from these deadly wildfires is reaching central New York as you can see below.


Smoke from the fires can create spectacular sunrises and sunsets while the haze is high in the sky.
