Silly Putty was actually invented in 1943, but not put on shelves until 1950.As kid you could never be bored with Silly Putty since there was so many things you could do with it. I can remember shaping into the form of a ball and bouncing it. However it would break into pieces if given a sharp blow. Also remember transferring the news paper funnies on to it by flattening out pressing it to the funnies with a little bit of pressure.
