A Queensbury apartment complex has decided to change course on having a deceased man's estate pay his rent.

A story on Channel 13 WNYT says 84-year-old Charles Stoddard had a signed lease to move into the Willows Apartment complex, but unfortunately passed away before his move-in date. Initially, the complex was going to hold the estate financially responsible for the terms of the lease deeming it a 'legal matter.' Thankfully after Channel 13 reported this, the group that owns the apartments reversed course and decided to release the estate from the lease due to the circumstances.

Sometimes common sense shines through and people end up doing the right thing. In this case, it looks like that is the case. In so many facets of life everyone tries to stick to rules and procedures that may be set, but ultimately doing the right thing in special situations should be the course of action!
