A magnitude 3.9 earthquake that stuck overnight in Quebec was felt in parts of the North Country.  According to the US Geologic Survey, the quake was centered about five miles from Beloeil, Quebec, approximately 60 miles north of the US Border.

The Press-Republican in Plattsburgh reported rumbling in portions of Clinton County and no damage has been reported.

The USGS says that this portion of Quebec receives 3-4 minor earthquakes each year and one strong enough to cause damage per decade.
