The three puppies dumped in Schuyler are on their way to a full recovery at Stevens Swan Humane Society.

Shelter Manager John Treen says the puppies are being fed, and have been de-wormed and given flea treatments. Each of the puppies are underweight - weighing only 7 to 9 pounds each - but are expected to make a full recovery. Their weight indicates that they were neglected for some time.

While the puppies are not yet available for adoption, the humane society hopes to have them ready for adoption by the end of this week (December 6th). Stevens Swan says they'll post on their Facebook page when they're taking applications to take one of these sweet puppers home.

Troopers have not yet discovered who left these puppies on the side of Newport Road in Schuyler, Herkimer County.

"On November 23, 2019, troopers arrived to find the four pitbull mix puppies on the side of the roadway. One of the puppies was found deceased, and the other three were malnourished and in poor health. It appears the puppies were left on the side of the roadway with a small bucket of water," reported the New York State Troopers.

If anyone has any information regarding the puppies they are asked to contact the State Police at (315) 366-6000.
