Pedestrian Struck By Utica Man Charged With DWAI Dies

A pedestrian who was struck by a Utica man near the Unadilla Valley Sports Center has died as a result of his injuries.

According to State Police, 20-year-old Jonathan Mayzak of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina succumbed to his injuries just after 1:30 p.m. Sunday.

31-year-old Edward Burnett of Utica has already been arrested on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired and Vehicular Assault.

An autopsy will be performed at the Onondaga County Medical Examiner's Office in the near future.

The investigation is ongoing and The Chenango County District Attorney's Office will be consulted as to whether additional charges are warranted.
