The New York State Museum in Albany has 'The World Trade Center: Rescue, Recovery, Response' exhibit that will give you goosebumps.

Have you visited this exhibit? It's a very powerful and emotional experience. See the photo gallery above from our visit. In honor of the 15th anniversary, the museum is holding a special guided tour from 1 pm - 2 pm for free.

The World Trade Center: Rescue, Recovery, Response details the history of the World Trade Center, the September 11 attacks, the rescue efforts, the evidence recovery operation at the Fresh Kills facility, and the public response to the September 11th events. The exhibition includes many objects, images, videos, and interactive stations documenting this tragic chapter in New York and America's history.

A new exhibit is opening September 10, 2016, called "World Trade Center Survivors." There were between 16,000 and 18,000 people inside the Twin Towers and an estimated 13,000 to 15,000 people were successfully evacuated. This exhibit tells the stories of 3 survivors.

For those not able top make it to Albany for a first-hand look they now offer an online feature for the exhibit. Admission to the New York State Museum and its historic Carousel is free.
