There will be one more thing to do this Summer in Rome and baseball fans will love it! The New York Collegiate Baseball League is a summer wood bat development league for professional baseball. An expansion team has been added and it's called The Rome Generals!

According to the Rome Sentinel,

Rome will play a 46-game schedule from June-August. Season tickets will be available beginning Tuesday on the Generals website at: www.RomeGenerals.com. The Generals will play in the NYCBL’s Eastern Division along with the Syracuse Salt Cats, Cortland Crush, Sherrill Silversmiths and Syracuse Chiefs.

The games will be played at DeLutis Field in Rome and it's very possible that future Major League Baseball players will play right here in Central New York. According to the NYCBL, over 70 of its former players were on the rosters of major and minor baseball teams this past season. At the very least we can see some outstanding young athletes play America's past-time on a competitive level.
