Although we're in the middle of summer, Halloween stories are already starting to land because for many, Halloween is the bee's knees. That is of course unless the 31st of October falls on a weekday which can cut the fun pretty short if you have to go to school or work the next day.

A petition has been put forward (with a TON of signatures) to change the date of Halloween to the last Saturday of the month so that families can enjoy it without restriction.

For this to happen, Congress would have to make Halloween a Federal Holiday the likes of MLK Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day and so on. While I get the argument for convenience, Halloween doesn't seem to fit the criteria for being made a Federal Holiday. Thoughts?
