Liverpool Girl Holding 4th Annual Lemonade Stand to Combat Cancer
A young girl in Liverpool is preparing cups of fresh-squeezed goodness for a very important lemonade stand.
Ava Musci created Ava's Awesome Lemonade Stand in 2017 and has been raising money every summer during the first week of August for the fight against cancer. In just four years, Ava has raised $4,200, and last year she raised a whopping $2,000.
Musci opened her lemonade stand when she became an active member of Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, an organization that raises money for research, treatment and cures for childhood cancer. 4-year-old Alex Scott started the foundation by raising funds through lemonade stands, and although she passed away from neuroblastoma when she was just 8 years old, Scott's legacy lives on through lemonade stands like Musci's all across the country that raise money in her honor.
This year, Musci is teaming up with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office to raise even more money for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. This year, you can stop by her stand in front of her house at 8192 Trellis Brook Lane in Liverpool on August 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be plenty of delicious lemonade and an opportunity to give donations and contribute to the foundation.
If you're unable to stop by Musci's stand on Sunday, you can donate online as well. It's days before the event and she's already raised over $800!
