Singer Jimmy Buffet is seeking to capitalize on Charlie Sheen's infamous references to "tiger blood" by trademarking the name for a new cocktail, TMZ reported Friday.

Buffett's company, Margaritaville Enterprises, filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office earlier this week to use the name for a vodka and energy drink.

The singer runs a series of  business ventures through his company, based on his hit 1977 single, that include two restaurant franchises, a brewing label and an apparel and accessory line.

Sheen referred to his red-colored energy drink as "tiger blood" during a recent media blitz that led to him being fired from his CBS  comedy series "Two and a Half Men" Sheen's endorsement sparked an interest in the product worldwide with bars, alcohol brands and even celebrities jumping on the "tiger blood" bandwagon.

A spokesperson for XANGO, the company that manufactures Sheen's preferred beverage, said the company had "no commercial arrangement with Charlie Sheen, nor would it consider any formal association with the actor."

"Charlie is one of millions around the world enjoying the health benefits of XANGO juice," the company said.  (Fox News)
