Jay Leno Checks Out the New 2013 Dodge Viper
Love him or hate him, you have to admit one thing — Jay Leno has the baddest car garage on the planet. The owner of just about every classic and supercar vehicle, the late-night show host loves cars more than you do, and he proves this once more as he checks out the 2013 SRT Viper GTS the SRT crew parked in his garage.
Leno already owns two Vipers, including the first black model produced in 1993 with 400hp. The 2013 sits at 640hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. (Yes, the Ford Mustang GT500 has 650hp for those of you wondering.) While it falls 10hp short of the Mustang, the SRT Viper (no longer the Dodge Viper) is a beautiful car that will surely stick out if it’s sitting side-by-side with any production Mustang.
Leno chats with Beth Paretta, Director of Marketing for SRT about the brand new super muscle car that’s going to cause a lot of head turning when you hear one flying down the street. There will be two models — base and GTS. The base will cost just over $100,000 and the GTS around $120,000. Expect every car magazine to throw the thing up against the 2013 GT-R the first chance they get.
