For the 10th year, IHOP will be handing out free short stacks of pancakes at locations across the U.S.

IHOP has been celebrating 'National Pancake Day' for a decade as a way to raise donations for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide.

This year the chain hopes to raise $3.5 million, which would bring the total raised over the past ten years to $20 million.

On National Pancake day, customers can get their free short stack in exchange for a small donation to the Children's Miracle Network.

Locally, you can get your free short stack at the IHOP on French Road in New Hartford all day from 7 a.m. until closing at 10 p.m.

In 2014 IHOP served 4.2 million free pancakes and collected nearly $3 million as part of National Pancake Day, enough to create a stack nearly 12 miles high.

Since the first National Pancake Day in 2006, IHOP has raised almost $16 million and given away more than 26 million pancakes t support local charities.
