Yikes!  What’s worse than bats?  How about bats with rabies?  None for me thanks. 

Not so lucky at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse.

If you have visited the zoo between 2/7 and 2/8, you are urged to contact the Onondaga County Health Department’s Bureau of Disease Control at (315)435-3236.

A bat at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo tested positive for rabies, the state Health Department reported Thursday morning.

The Health Department is asking residents who may have come into direct contact with a bat on the grounds of the Zoo between Sunday, Feb. 7 and Monday, Feb. 8 to contact the Onondaga County Health Department's Bureau of Disease Control at (315) 435-3236.
