The Holland Patent Middle School was evacuated just before noon on Friday following a non-specific bomb threat.

The Oneida County Sheriff's Office and Utica Police Department bomb dogs worked with school staff to clear the building.  School officials advised parents and guardians of the incident.

The school was deemed safe just after 1:30 and students returned to class.

Members of the New York State Police, New York State Environmental Conservation Police and Holland Patent Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation and anyone with information can call the Sheriff's Office at (315) 765-2219.
