Higby Road’s ‘Dip’ Sign is a Sign of the ‘Spring’ Times
It's not everyday you see a DIP sign along the highway; in fact, I don't ever remember seeing a DIP sign.
Sure enough, there is one.
The one spotted in the photo above is located on Higby Road near the Herkimer County line. It's warning drivers of a fairly considerable dip in the highway caused by the freeze and thaw that we New Yorker's are so very used to at the end of every winter.
It's a sign of the times; springtime, that is.
The topic was brought up this week on the radio show and there were plenty of people calling in to confirm that this 'DIP sign' is pretty common around here. I guess I've never paid attention.
Our DIP sign is nothing compared road signs outside New York. Check out the far more amusing signs below from all around the world.
