It's not every day we have good news to report on, and to some extent this story is bad news. But the difference, this gentleman from New Hartford should be honored as a local hero. Meet Wayne Rich. Rich suffered a house fire just the other night and lost everything expect his pet dog Roxy. When the fire started, Wayne went back in to rescue his friend and now he's being treated at Upstate Medical center for severe smoke inhalation. He went back in to rescue his dog, this guy is truly a legend. He should be honored.

Wayne will be sedated and on a respirator for at least the next 3 to 4 days so please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Family and friends are asking for your help. They set up the “Wayne Rich Fire Relief” fund.

Along with the loss of all of his clothing and possessions his medical expenses will be considerable. Although we can never replace the items that hold sentimental value to him it is my hope that as his friends we can do whatever we can to help. I know if he was awake today he would be appreciative of any and all help that he receives throughout his healing process.”
