Happy Birthday J.R.R. Tolkien

Author J.R.R Tolkien was born on this day, January 3rd, 1892. Tolkien is by far and away my favorite author. I have read his books, The Hobbit, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and Return of the King more times than I can remember. I believe The Hobbit is the first real book I ever read and have gone through 3 copies due to my "heavy" use of the book. The story of Bilbo Baggins has captivated the hearts and minds of generations. The little guy who conquers his own fears and great adversity in a grand adventure he didn't seek. The story, originally published in 1937, is being made into a major motion picture by Peter Jackson, the man who directed the Lord of the Rings trilogy.  The movie will hit the big screen in December.
