The more we learn about the story of Halo 5: Guardians, the more we worry about Master Chief's final outcome.

The teases began with only a short video clip that was only 15 seconds long, but the image of a sniper bullet marked "TRAITOR" shattering the iconic helmet of the Master Chief could be an allusion to a major part of the Halo 5: Guardians narrative. Who's shooting at the Chief, and more importantly, why? What's going on with our favorite Spartan that he's being hunted? This isn't the first time Chief's been labeled a traitor in Guardians footage, could this shot be a nod at his execution?

These flames were only more fueled when a teaser countdown site finally reached zero and the first episode of a weekly audio series (provided below) began. In this clip, we hear a war journalist talking about Master Chief — how he was assigned to profile the hero of the Earth, and how his research quickly became a journey into secrets, lies, and a hidden dark side to John-117. It's only two and a half minutes long, but it's enough to get our heads scratching.

Just when we thought we were done, the bullet ad above appeared again during Sunday night's new episode of AMC's The Walking Dead, adding a tease for hearing "both sides of the truth" during next week's season finale. Could a full Halo 5 trailer debut during a commercial break? We'll have to wait and see, but any doubt created by the silence can now be put to rest: Halo 5 is coming, and it's coming soon.

Halo 5: Guardians is scheduled to launch on the Xbox One sometime in 2015, likely in November.
