Anna Casadei is an award-winning screenwriter, and she wrote this particular script in hopes of shedding some light from a personal tragedy her family went through. Legacy is based on the true story of how her father tries to cope with the death of his son. As a society, we often gravitate to the mother during this difficult grieving process but Anna wanted to show how it affects a father and his healing process.
Legacy is a dramatic short film shot in Calvary Cemetery and Forest Hills Cemetery, both in Utica, starring Tom Proctor. Mark Casadei sought out Proctor after he did some outstanding films like Guardians of the Galaxy, 12 years a Slave, Birth of a Nation and numerous hit television shows. His transformation is brilliant as he tries to come to grip at his son's gravesite on his birthday. This story centers around that conversation and how an interruption can either destroy the moment or help it all together.

Legacy is currently in post-production and will be released digitally, world- wide, after festival runs of the film. Mark says this was produced to bring an emotional story to the spotlight and discuss a topic that is often too hard to discuss in the first place. They love to support the film community while showcasing what Awesome Monkey Productions can accomplish. They are set to film a feature film coming spring 2017 to Central, NY.
