
ESPN Icon John Saunders Has Passed Away
ESPN sportscaster John Saunders has passed away at the age of 61.
Saunders was joined ESPN in 1986 as a co-host of SportsCenter and also covered the NHL Stanley Cup Finals, MLB world Series and hosted the popular show Sports Reporters on Sunday Mornings.
Saunders was also a founding member of the V Foundation for Cancer Research and hosted studio shows for baseball, college football and college basketball.
John Saunders was born in Ontario, Canada and was a standout hockey player at Western Michigan University from 1974-1976.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda and two daughters.
A cause of death has not yet been announced.
