"There are no words to describe the pain myself, our families, and friends are feeling after the selfish actions of a drunk driver." Those word from an Oneida teen who lost her "true love" in a tragic car crash.

19-year-old Kane Buss was killed Sunday when his car was struck by an alleged drunk driver, on his way home from a date with Amanda Pawlikowski. A love he sacrificed his life for. Jennifer Peters, who called Kane her "adopted son" says "Kane's last heroic act was to shield Amanda from the impact. Doctors said his actions saved her life."

Amanda was seriously injured in the crash and remains in the hospital. However, her physical injuries will heal long before her emotional ones. She posted a final message to Kane on Instagram.

"My perfect, perfect boy. There are no words to describe the pain myself, our families, and friends are feeling after the selfish actions of a drunk driver. You are the most amazing man I have ever known and I will never forget your contagious giggles, giant heart, the way you make me laugh, and the fact that you are just such an amazing guy. You are so handsome and charming I feel lucky to have you everyday. You changed my life for the better and You will always be my everything. I will forever call you mine. If it weren't for your brave and selfless characteristics, I would not be here today. I wish I could have kept you safer, I would do anything to have your arms around me at this point in time. You stole my heart, and I wouldn't have it any other way. You were the one for me and although our time was cut short, I can't thank you enough for showing me what true love is. I love you more than I could ever put into words, Kane Buss. Keep me safe and I can't wait until I see your precious face again, Rest in peace my sweet, sweet angel."

Leonard Glowacki is accused of running into their vehicle on Hiawatha Boulevard, near Destiny USA. He's facing several felony charges, including vehicular manslaughter, vehicular assault and DWI. According to Syracuse.com, this isn't the first drunk driving incident for Glowacki, who was charged with felony DWI last February.

Buss, who would have turned 20 next month, was set to graduate from Herkimer Community College in May and had plans to attend the police academy.

Buss' family, Mike and Claudette along with his brother Dalton are grieving at the loss of their son, taken too soon. Calling hours will be Friday at Campbell Dean in Oneida from 3 to 7pm. Details are still being finalized for the funeral, that will be held Saturday.

Friends are grieving together on Twitter and Kane's Facebook page, sending prayers to the family.

I lost a cousin in a drunk driving accident many years ago. He was just 16 years old. The pain of losing a loved one never goes away but it does get easier. You just have to take it day by day. This young man may be gone, but he'll never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.
