Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be parking his #88 Nationwide racer in the garage for a race, and he will be honoring the great NASCAR Hall of Famer, Cale Yarborough, by racing in a 'throwback' paint sceme Valvoline Chevy. He will be racing with this special car September 6th at Darlington Raceway.

Yarborough isn't the only legend Dale Jr. will be honoring. According to Dale Junior's official website,

Earnhardt and Valvoline’s presence on the Darlington track at the upcoming NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event will pay homage to the brand’s storied history in motor sports with an early-1980s look inspired by Valvoline cars driven by some of the era’s racing icons, including Cale Yarborough, Ron Bouchard, Neil Bonnett and Buddy Baker.

Maybe the spirits of races past and the brand of past champions will bring Earnhardt some luck. This special ride is also in promotion of a special series NASCAR fans can look forward to on the Valvoline YouTube Channel.
