
Best Veggie Burger On The Planet, OK Central New York
I am the meat eater in our family so you can imagine what our grill looks like during grilling season; burgers, hot dogs, chicken and steaks. My wife on the other hand isn't quite the meat eater that I am, and really prefers pasta a vegetables, though she craves the idea of a burger on the grill.
In celebration of National Veggie Burger Day, I thought I would post her favorite veggie burger recipe that she received from her childhood friend, and she has included her own twist on the recipe.
Ingredients
1/2 cup of diced red onions
6 button mushrooms diced
Salt and pepper to taste
Teaspoon of Juanita's Soul Classic Soul Spice (you can find it at Peter's Cornucopia or on line)
1 15 oz can of kidney beans white or red (she likes white best)
1 egg to hold mixture together
3/4 cup of cooked quinoa
Mix together to join all ingredients. As it can sometimes be a challenge keeping these "burgers" and being a meat eater I use that term loosely, together, I would place them on foil an grill away. We meat eaters are getting ready to char some steaks.
