Last week, when Robert Downey, Jr. revealed the Iron Man character poster for Avengers 2, he also teased a “big announcement” in 8 days, which would be this upcoming Thursday. We're still a few days away, but we might have our strongest hint yet at what this big announcement is. Last night, ABC ran a promo last night revealing that the third and final Avengers 2 trailer would air on Thursday night during the series premiere of American Crime.

While some were hoping for a big Spider-Man related announcement, it seems more likely that the event Robert Downey, Jr. was teasing was the debut of the new Avengers 2 trailer. We had previously guessed that the Avengers 2 trailer would be attached to Cinderella, and we were half-right. The Avengers 2 trailer will be in theaters with Cinderella, but Marvel fans will also get to see it first on Thursday night.

The American Crime premiere starts at 10pm ET and if previous Marvel trailer events are any indication, you probably won't see the Avengers 2 trailer until the very end of the show. Of course, if you don't feel like watching the entire show, you can always keep your eyes peeled right here, where we'll have the Avengers 2 trailer as soon as it goes live.

Downey, Jr.’s original message kicked off a daily release of new Avengers 2 character posters. So far we’ve seen Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, Nick Fury and Hawkeye. Today comes Captain America. That leaves Wednesday and Thursday for two final posters. Will get Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch combined onto one poster and then, dare we say it, our first official look at Vision on his own poster?

Avengers 2 opens in theaters on May 1.

When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure. Avengers 2 will also see the addition of Vision, the humanoid superhero created by Ultron from Tony Stark's JARVIS operating system.
