Even if I were dripping in money like melted Velveeta, I can't imagine that I would spend nearly $4,000 per night to say somewhere. They, whoever "they" are, say that when a person falls into money everything changes but maybe that's the problem...or at least where all the problems begin.

Joybird took a peek at the most expensive Airbnb in each state to find out which property in each of the 50 states comes with the highest rental price. It comes as literally no surprise that the most expensive Airbnb rental boasts a price tag of $15,000 PER night for a California property that sits on 22 acres in Yountville and is called “The Villa at the Estate.”

In Alaska, the most expensive Airbnb is priced at over $34,000 for a three-night stay on a 95-foot VIP yacht. Or if you'd rather, you can crash at Oyster Pond in Edgartown, Massachusetts for a cool $10,000 a night.

Granted, New York's most expensive nightly Airbnb rental is substantially less costly than Alaska's $11,000 per night or the $10,000 per night for the Massachusetts property, but come on!

I might like Bridgerton and Downton Abbey as much as the next person (maybe even more so) and maybe I do fantasize from time to time about what it would be like to float through the halls of a mansion straight from either, but not at the cost of about $4,000 per night.

New York's most expensive Airbnb property is located a mere hour and a half drive from Binghamton in Seneca Falls. Gould Swaby Estate was built in the 1870s and is certainly jaw-droppingly beautiful but comes with a two-night minimum of $7,912 for both nights followed by a fee of $300 for cleaning and a service fee of $1,159 for a two night grand total of $9,371. But who is going to stay at a swanky estate for just two nights? Tack on an additional night and you're looking at shelling out $13,886 to lay your head on a pillow that is clearly made from clouds plucked directly from heaven.
