6 Free Things to Do in Clinton
Let's face it, it can be difficult to go on vacation. Everything is so expensive. So, I decided to help you take a vacation without actually leaving. Here are six things you can do in the Village of Clinton that don't cost money.
6. Explore History
In Clinton, history is all around--just walk around the village. For example, visit the Old Burying Ground on Kirkland Ave where American Revolutionary War veterans are buried. Or, visit Hamilton College to see the building where Elihu Root was born and the grave of Oneida Chief Skenandoah (Skenando, Skenandoa and Shenendoah are other spellings). 5. Music on the Green (Tuesday Evenings in the Summer)
There's always something nice to listen to Tuesday evenings during the summer on the Village Green. Bands of all genres play in the gazebo. Be sure to bring a chair or a blanket. For more information, click here.
4. Kirkland Town Library
Whether you want to check out a book or sit and read a magazine, you can do it at the Kirkland Town Library. Sometimes, there are different exhibits on the second floor of the library, too. For more information, click here.
3. The Ruth and Elmer Wellin Museum of Art at Hamilton College
Check out all the great exhibits at the Wellin Museum of Art. It's located on the Hamilton College campus on College Hill Road. For more information, click here and here.
2. The Kirkland Town Park
Located on Post Street, this is a great place to have a picnic or kick around the soccer ball. For more information, click here.
1. Root Glen at Hamilton College
If you love nature and like to hike, this is the place to go. You'll see beautiful scenery as you walk the trails. And the best part--it's free! You can check out some of my photography from Root Glen, here. For more information about Root Glen, click here.
