Layla's previous owners surrendered her to the shelter because they didn't want her anymore. Although it's difficult to understand, they did do the right thing by turning her into the Herkimer County Humane Society.

Layla is very intuitive as she jumped out of the car at the shelter and took off for seven days before staff captured her. Poor thing is terrified.

This beautiful girl is Layla. Layla is around 10 months old and was surrendered to the shelter because her owner didn't want her anymore. On Layla's way on coming into the shelter, she bolted out of the car and ran away. 7 days later shelter staff and volunteers caught her. Layla is very nervous around new people which is understandable. Layla gets along with other dogs and seems fine with cats. If interested in Layla multiple meets and greets are a must. Please share Layla. She needs to know that not all people will not give up on her.

There is a lot of interest in Layla at the Herkimer County Humane Society. We hope she finds a wonderful home.
