After losing young stud starter Matt Harvey to Tommy John surgery in 2014, the New York Mets learned Monday that they'll be without another young gun in 2015, the team has announced.

Zack Wheeler, 24, will miss the entire season and undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a ligament in his elbow.

Wheeler becomes another in a very long list of pitchers who opt to go under the knife to repair a pitching elbow.
