Ice, ice baby. Get your ice skate on before winter is over.

Beginning Tuesday, March 2, the Clinton Square ice rink in downtown Syracuse no longer requires or offers in-advance reservations online. Instead, skating availability will be at a first-come, first-served basis. Skaters will be allowed on the ice for 90 minutes, and the rink will continue to be limited to 50 skaters on the ice at one time.

The ice rink in Clinton Square will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., but just like Central New York weather, ice conditions can be unpredictable and can change at any time. Call 315-423-0129 to check current ice conditions.

Admission is $5 for most, except for kids 12 and under and seniors 55 and over, whose admission costs $3. Skaters can either bring their own ice skates or purchase a skate rental online or at the rink for $5. The rink still does not accept cash at the moment, so you'll have to bring a credit or debit card.

All patrons must follow all new guidelines for the 2021 skating season. Everyone will be temperature-checked at the front door, must social distance from other patrons, and must wear a mask and mittens or gloves at all times.
