Maybe your family is like mine in that once pasta is on the table, we cover it in cheese. My sister and I will usually duke it out for the parmesan cheese and we can go through it pretty fast. At least parmesan is pretty cheap. If we had to pay this next price for cheese, I don’t think I’d ever use more than a flake.

Cheese may be delicious, but is it worth $ 8,400? Recently, 24 pounds of Dutch Vermeer cheese was auctioned for $8,400. So if you went into a store and bought it by the pound you’re looking at about 350 bucks a pound. I hope this cheese comes with a gold brick.

In case you were wondering why they are getting away charging $8,000 for cheese, Dutch Vermeer is a low fat Gouda. This particular wheel of cheese won the World Champion Cheese contest in Madison, Wisconsin beating out two cheeses from Switzerland.
