If you really want to experience the holiday season, you may want to take a trip over to Niagara Falls for their spectacular display.

Need something to help you get into the holiday spirit? A trip to Niagara Falls for their "Winter Festival of Lights" may be just what you need. Now, let us first state that this is NOT on the New York side of Niagara Falls, you'll have to cross over into Canada. But it will be worth it.

"Winter Festival of Lights" is a huge light wonderland that runs from Saturday, November 19th through Tuesday, January 31st (which will give you plenty of time to plan a little trip to Canada). Not only will the Falls be lit up for the holidays, but according to Narcity,

...the spaces surrounding [the Falls area] are decorated with sparkling lights, glowing sculptures, animated displays and an array brilliant colours.

The festival, which is held at Queen Victoria Park in Niagara Falls is sure to get anyone in the holiday spirit with tons and TONS of decorations - Trees are decorated and glowing throughout the park, the roadways are lit up... It's truly a breath-taking sight.

It's free to get into the "Winter Festival of Lights," but donations are always appreciated. Before you visit, you can print out a map that shows you where all the displays are located (you can see that map here). While you're out don't forget to check out Santa's Sleigh on the route and the Illuminated Fountain on Dufferin Islands Pond. Oh, and don't forget about the fireworks display - It happens on Fridays during the festival. You can get a little preview of what to expect in the video (at the top of this page).

Happy Holidays!
