This song was based on a true storyOne night while they were out on tour they were drinking at a hotel bar where they would be staying. One of the roadies got into a fight causing the whole band to get tossed out. They went back to a room ordered champagne and continued to party.The original 1st line of the song was 'Its 8 o clock and boys its time to go' well then lead singer Ronnie Van Zandt changed it when he found out his brother Donnie was opening  his first National tour with his band 38 Special in Boise. The opening line of the then became 'Its 8 o clock in Boise    Idaho.
