Ticks are biting early and there are lot more than normal says Veterinarian  Dr. David Nickel DVM.

Dr. Nickel said the overall mild winter did not interrupt the life cycle of the flea and tick population. Also the winter did not overly affect the Deer and Mouse population and that contributes to the flea and tick population as well.

There are several things you can do. As much trouble as it may seem be sure to check your animals each time they come back in from being outside. Use a good flea and tick medication.

If you have a tick bite let your Doctor know as soon as possible as 60% of all ticks carry Lime disease.
