The New York State Police arrested 65 year-old, Joanne M. Armstrong and 55 year-old, Leroy S. Burnham, and charged them both with 68 counts each of Animal Cruelty charges. 

State Police executed d a search warrant at 17037 Sandy Creek Valley Road in the Town of Watertown investigating animal cruelty / neglect. These investigations took place during the months of January and February.

According to reports, the veterinarians evaluated over 140 animals and provided documentation to the New York State Police on the physical condition of each animal. WWNY reports that on the property the couple had horses, ponies, alpacas, rabbits and cows. Out of about 140 farm animals, police say veterinarians found at least 50 of them underfed and living in poor conditions.

State Police charged Joanne M. Armstrong and Leroy S. Burnham with 68 counts each of Animal Cruelty charges, a class "A" misdemeanor. Both were arraigned in the Town of Watertown Court.
