The Vancouver Canucks General Manager Jim Benning announced today that the club had signed and recalled forward Darren Archibald from the Utica Comets.

The players in Utica are always in a state of flux, most of the time they are playing with the hopes of one thing happening getting called back to the NHL team.

The same thing goes for the teams that try to manage and keep a winning team on the ice when you are always on the verge of the players being called up and the Comets maybe losing a key player or two at a critical time in the schedule.

Archibald,27, has recorded 16 points in 25 games with Utica this season and led the Comets in goals and was the recipient of the tom McVie Award as the Coach's MVP and the Mohawk Valley Media Player of the Year Award

A native of Newmarket, Ontario, Archibald originally signed as a free agent by Vancouver in 2013.
