The City of Utica’s Department of Public Works is undertaking two major demolition projects.

Mayor Robert Palmieri says the demolition of the former Cornhill Senior Center on James Street began today.

The demolition of 10 and 20 Barnes Avenue is tentatively scheduled to begin in March, depending on weather conditions.

Palmieri says the demolition of the properties will enhance the quality of life for City residents.
