The Utica Comets won on the road and beat the Rochester Americans by one point in a shootout Monday afternoon at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester.

Zack MacEwen got the comets to a 1-0 lead with a power play just 2 minutes into the game. Seth Griffith tied the game at 5:41 of the second period.

Thatcher Demko and Linus Ullmark wee spotless in the third period to send the game to overtime. Darren Archibald scored the only goal in the shootout to get the win.

The Comets are back in action Wednesday night for a rematch with Rochester at the Adirondack Bank Center, the puck drops at 7 pm.
