'Concussion' is based on a true story and tackles one of the NFL's biggest controversies: traumatic brain injury. It will be in theaters December 25, during football season.

Sony Pictures Entertainment says Concussion is a dramatic thriller based on the incredible true David vs. Goliath story of American immigrant Dr. Bennet Omalu, the brilliant forensic neuropathologist who made the first discovery of CTE, a football-related brain trauma, in a pro player and fought for the truth to be known. Omalu's emotional quest puts him at dangerous odds with one of the most powerful institutions in the world.

This is a hot topic in the NFL and for all who play football. Eonline reports the film is based on the true story of Dr. Bennet Omalu, a forensic pathologist who first discovered that chronic brain injury played a role in the deaths of some former NFL players. The degenerative disease is known as chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

There's already heated discussions about this movie. Not only does it affect the NFL but also our children who play football.

Is this something that concerns the parent's of our local football players?
