The National Weather Service out of Binghamton is warning CNY of some potentially hazardous weather.

Damaging winds and very strong thunderstorms are a possibility today as a cold front moves into Central New York.  A tornado watch has been issued in our area until 10 PM for Chenango, Oneida, Madison, and Onondaga Counties.

A tornado watch means that conditions are favorable for tornadoes, but that tornadoes have not yet been spotted.

Thunderstorms, potentially severe, are expected to develop ahead of a strong cold front this afternoon through evening. Damaging winds will be the primary threat from these storms, but isolated tornadoes will be possible. Also, the storms may contain heavy rainfall with the potential for localized urban and small stream flooding.
