Thunderstorms, Damaging Winds, Hail and Heavy Rain In CNY

The National Weather Service (NWS) is calling for damaging winds, strong thunderstorms, heavy rain, possible flash flooding, and maybe isolated tornado in CNY.

On Friday afternoon and evening, thunderstorms are likely. Thunderstorms could have damaging winds, small hail and heavy rain. Heavy rain could cause isolated flash flooding.

NWS says Friday will be an active weather day. Central New York will be in the warm sector while a cold front moves into the southeast through our area in the afternoon and early evening...Precipitable water rises to 1 to 1.3 inches...The Storm Prediction Center has increased the threat of strong damaging winds and severe thunderstorms...Watch for thunderstorms with heavy rain Friday. If the ground is already saturated from the rain tonight, it could cause isolated flash flooding.
