It's been a long time since I have visited the Oneida County Historical Society. I'm talking a long time. So, I decided to stop in recently when I saw the "Museum Open" sign on the front steps of the historical society.

The Rakhine community of Utica held a traditional Water Festival called Thingyan at Hanna Park. Many came out to enjoy the singing, dancing, food, and of course, the water.
One sure sign of summer in central New York is the arrival of the Munson-Williams- Proctor Arts Institute's Arts Festival, and it's going on now. There are many interesting paintings and photographs in the freee sidewalk art show. My son had a painting in the show a few years ago, and it's fun to see other local artists' and photographers' work on display.
