As a former tour guide at the F.X. Matt Brewery, I'm always interested to share the latest brews news about my Alma Mater. A number of Saranac beers have won gold medals in the "World Beer Awards 2014" competition.

I first heard of "The Pope Of Foam" while watching an episode of The Esquire Network's "Brew Dogs". He's Charlie Bamforth, an accomplished brew master who is well respected by all brewers. I've had a fascination with how beer is made ever since my college days as a tour guide at the F.X. Matt Brewery.

As a former tour guide at the F. X. Matt Brewing Company, I always look forward to "what's brewing" at the home of Saranac. I just learned that the fourth annual local "Saranac Hop Harvest" will take place on Sunday, August 24th in Bridgewater. Check out what it's all about.

As a former tour guide at the F.X. Matt Brewery during my college days, I was weaned on Utica Club Pilsener Lager Beer. Now, according to the brewery, there is a two-week shortage of UC draught beer in central New York. Two weeks? It might as well be eternity, as UC on tap is my beer of choice in taverns. It's still one of my favorites, and even though today's craft beers are more complex, UC is an honest brew that delivers more body and flavor than most of the big brands.
